ABOUT

For those who don’t know, I’m your original street urchin from the Olney section of North Philadelphia. Was raised by an Irish Catholic mom. My dad died when I was eight. By 17, I discovered alcohol, and by 45, I attended my first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. My sobriety date is August 30, 1997. A lot happened in between those years and since.

As an FYI, I’m a practicing Catholic: Irish, Scottish, English, and French by descent. Do not let the Catholic part fool or upset you in any way.

Why?

Those who do know me know that I am no saint. Far from it. As Paul of Tarsus wrote in a letter to his friend, Timothy, I consider myself ‘chief of sinners.’ So, again, you can ask, “Why write something about the God-man, Jesus, the Carpenter from Nazareth? You’re an admitted alcoholic and sinner.”

True… but I firmly believe He, the Carpenter from Nazareth, came to save us sinners!

Yes, I attended Catholic elementary school, high school, and college. I even entered a seminary in Philadelphia, studying to be a Roman priest. Left after two years.

Received a Master’s Degree from a private university in New Jersey while spending 30 years in the medical industry. In retirement, now in 2025, I am, of all things, a school bus driver… and I love it!

So, you still , after reading the Home Page and this page about me, may be asking–“Why?”

The short answer, “I believe that, through my life, I’ve been called to “Spread the Good News of the Christ.” And I’ve asked myself the same question, “Why?”

Maybe I’ll get the answer every other week through these blog posts. I do believe and always will, that the Carpenter from Nazareth has ALL of our answers.
